Concept and exhibition design for Imaginarium III- 2024: How Creative Industries are Reshaping Sustainability

Set in a futuristic Milan interwoven with historical elements, the third edition of IMAGINARIUM explores the role of creative industries in addressing environmental challenges. Partnered with Elena Pelosi Studio, which crafted an immersive event setup, the initiative offers a thought-provoking experience.

Organized by Acqua Foundation, Vanity Fair, and LVRSustainable, IMAGINARIUM promotes sustainability and responsible practices through thematic panels on fashion, diversity & inclusion, art, and design, featuring distinguished guests.

ARTISTIC PROJECT AQUATIC TALES, Elena Mazzi

For the 2024 edition, it presents works by Elena Mazzi featuring pieces from various productions including “Becoming with and unbecoming with” (2018-2023), 9 sculptures (mixed-media); “Sápmi Flatbed” (2022), a floor tapestry composed of different pieces; “Polar Silk Road (Map 1)” (2023), a wall tapestry and “The upcoming Polar silk Road” (2021), a video work (displayed between the ground floor and upper floor of Fondazione Catella).

Elena Mazzi, starting from the examination of specific territories, reinterprets in her works the cultural and natural heritage of places by weaving together stories, facts, and fantasies transmitted by local communities, aiming to suggest possible resolutions to the human-nature-culture conflict. Her working methodology, closely aligned with anthropology, favors a holistic approach aimed at mending societal fractures, beginning with observation and proceeding by combining different forms of knowledge.

Charity Project: WeWorld in Cambodia

Acqua Foundation has partnered with WeWorld to implement a water compensation project in Cambodia. The fundraising during the conference will support:

1. Access to Drinking Water: Installation of water purification filters in two schools, benefiting 300 children each and their families.
2. Study on Water Pollution: Scientific research to verify groundwater pollution levels near textile industrial settlements.
3. Access to Medical Check-ups: Free medical visits for school children to address health issues caused by drinking non-potable water.
