Superbloom by Elena Pelosi: ceramic stones and a vase holding single flowers, in raking sunlight
Superbloom by Elena Pelosi: grey ceramic stone holding a single allium flower

Superbloom is a series of ceramic objects designed by Elena Pelosi, shaped as stones that hold flowers.

Each piece has a small opening for one or a few stems. The surfaces are rough and mineral, in shades of grey, ochre and rust, and no two stones are the same.

The name refers to the superbloom, the rare moment when desert landscapes such as the Atacama in Chile flower after rain. The objects work on the same contrast: a living stem rising from a material that looks barren.
