A table-sculpture in cocciopesto designed by Elena Pelosi for Casa Charleston in Mondello, Palermo, produced by Cipriani Design for the spaces designed by Sergio Colantuoni.
Cocciopesto – powders of terracotta, marble and natural stone – is finished with brass details. Fragments of ceramic and stone carry the memory of past eras, and the surface records the passing of time in its nuances: an ode to nature and to turning the past into a sustainable future.
The Charleston opened in 1967 in Palermo’s Piazzale Ungheria, a place loved by Giuseppe Tomasi di Lampedusa, author of The Leopard, and became known internationally for its Art Nouveau rooms and its cuisine.
