Memories is a research project by Elena Pelosi and Andrea Giovanni Croce on the archetypes of handles and closure elements: objects at the intersection of technical function, architectural language and decorative tradition.

Memory lives in the objects we touch every day. The research traces forms that have evolved across generations to become part of our collective imagination. Handle Archetype 01, the first to emerge, draws on the tassel that once hung from our grandmothers’ wardrobes, marking the threshold between what is visible and what is kept inside.

The brass body is cast with the lost-wax technique and silver-plated: its finish oxidises, keeps traces of touch and develops a patina with daily use. A ceramic element, made from a selection of earths and clays, carries the material history of the ground they come from, fixed by firing.
