Dare forma alla terra – Give shape to the soil – is a research project by Elena Pelosi that connects each object with the territory and landscape it comes from. Every piece is dedicated to the place where its material, partly or entirely, was collected.

Rocks, clays and minerals are gathered by Elena Pelosi during her research. In the Stone Forest series, this vase from Santorini investigates the value of time: a fossil forest of recovered soils, in memory of the history of the land.

Red clay with white and pink slip, reclaimed soils and iron powder give a rough, earthy surface speckled with black sand. Each unique piece has a base and a modular corolla, like a blooming bud; editions are limited to 50 per type, with a stamped and signed certificate and a bag of the original wild clay.

The piece has been shown in exhibitions and in a gallery.
