The creative process of the Vase collection transforms waste materials into refined art pieces. By combining clays of different consistencies and colors, Elena Pelosi has developed a technique that produces multi-colored slabs with streaked veining, creating an effect that mirrors the natural beauty of marble.
Derived from Ouroboros—the ancient symbol of the serpent biting its own tail, representing eternity and continuous transformation—OURO reflects the endless movement of matter. Each piece reveals a unique landscape of color and texture, where the material itself records the silent rhythm of formation, suggesting an unbroken cycle of earth, process, and form.
The surface treatment (crystalline) that makes it shiny brings out unexpected colors of the ceramic body.
